INADEQUET HOUSING…

“About 40% of on-reservation housing is considered inadequate”. Indian Housing Authority (IHA) recent efforts, 30% of Indian housing is overcrowded, and less than 50% of it is connected to a public sewer. While most Americans take running water, telephones, and electricity for granted, many reservation families live without these luxuries.
This is outragous!!! Why is it the ‘FIRST’ Americans have less than the imigrants that came to this country? People in the poorest countries have more than this!!!!! Native American issues never get the attention they need and this is what happens….they have to live like this. Is this somewhere you would enjoy visiting your elderly partents?
It is all just so sad.

It is times like this that I am ashamed to call myself an American. 🙁
for years and years we,on my rez,keep employing people who steal moneys from our housing authority. and to make up for it, they raise rent,to low income peoples,and they dont have any respect for the tribal members here. we are threatened endlessly if we dont have enough propane in our tanks,and some of us are sick and tired of it…these people they hire,then fire, arehired back again within a different position in the tribe. and they continue stealing. without being punished…i dont understand why this is done…no one complains…well i am now. thanks for letting me vent.
this is truly outragious that people have to live in these conditions in the 21st century governments need to step up to the plate and say no more my heart bleeds for my native american brothers and sisters from your spirit brother across the pond in the uk
We know the Governments don’t care about their own next generation, They care about what they can gain the help that is going to get to the Native people in need is going to come from the common people.
